It has been 4 weeks since I started the survey, and 96 votes were recorded.

The results show: 47% for the Town basin, 27% for the CBD of Whangarei, 14% for Toll Stadium, 9% for Marsden Cove Ruakaka, and 3% for Forum North.

The results are only indicative due to only 96 votes were recorded, but what they do show is that having a party central location in Whangarei for the Rugby World Cup, is a topic that has created very hot controversy.

What I wanted to find out with this survey was, if the choice was given to the public which location would they choose?  Admittedly there was no choice of ‘no party central’.

We as a district need to get our act together. Last week Dickens Inn was named by Heineken as their Official World Cup Bar for Whangarei, isn't that great!  We need to now start getting our city ready, as there will be allot of people travelling around New Zealand visiting.  Start cleaning up the entranceways, water blasting the rock walls, and create a place where people can stop, shop and enjoy.

I personally am excited about the events that are planned to happen in Whangarei, like the Rally of Whangarei, RWC, Hockey ... and I want everyone of us to profit off them in some way.  Whangarei to me is an exciting place, so lets start planning together what needs to happen next.
