9:00am - Environmental

Item three, refers to the Urban Design Strategy.  This has a attachment of a document titled "Making great places to shape our future".  Interesting document to read which includes information such as the "Urban Sprawl", "Urban Style" and finishes up with a list of objectives and possible outcomes.  An interesting read.

Item five, refers to the City Centre Urban Design Framework Methodology.  This information looks at setting up an internal project team within Council, which will report back to council.  Not sure if Councillors should be appointed at this point as it is too close to elections.

Item six, refers to Port Nikau Joint Venture.  Basically coming back to Council with the findings from the commisioners about the possible development, and with the changes that need to take place before development goes the next step.

Item two, refers to the Temporary Road Closures for several roads around Whangarei, for the Northland Car club to do the hill climbs and sprints each year.

Item three, refers to the Whangarei District Road Safety Issues Report for 2005-2009.  Very interesting reading as, this still shows that the District has a high level of Alcohol and Speed related accidents.  If anything the events are tending to rise.
